Bedroom


Her lips curled into a smile as she heard that the front door closed. She had just finished doing the dishes then hurried out of the kitchen to greet her husband. But as she stepped in the hall, she saw him standing in front of the door still, pushing his forehead to the door with a sigh.

“Zuko…” He slowly looked up at her with tired eyes. “What’s wrong?”

“Do you remember…” He said while his eyes drifted to the side, and from the frown upon his face, she stepped closer with a worried look. “That they planned to promote someone after Zhao quit from job?”

Katara let out a small sigh as she straightened in her place. He already mentioned this, but added rather darkly that probably another guy would be promoted because he was the boss’s relative… “You didn’t get it?”

He was looking to the side still, but after her question, he couldn’t suppress his smirk anymore. As his golden eyes met hers again, her eyes lit up. “You got it!” She almost yelled and a bright smile spread across her face.

In the next moment she jumped in his neck with a cheerful yell, and he was thankful the door was still behind him because even her legs wrapped around him, bringing him out of his balance.

His hands held her thighs while she kissed him then he let out a chuckle as she slightly leaned backwards to look at him, while he spoke again. “Yeah, so get ready for Hawaii, baby.” Blue eyes grew big while she was looking at him, but as he only showed one of his rare smiles she realized he was not joking. “Happy anniversary Katara…”

She let out a happy yell and almost immediately kissed him again, but pulled away before he could have deepened it. She smirked as he looked at her with slight disapproval but then she leaned in, to whisper in his scarred ear. “I have another idea how to celebrate this good news…”

“Oh… I bet you do.” He smirked as she leaned backwards in his arms while her cross legs tightened around his waist and his hands wandered just a bit forward below her thighs.

“To the bedroom, captain…” She purred while one of her hands trailed in his hair while he blew kisses upon her left shoulder then up to her neck as he walked towards that very room.

When he reached their bed, she slowly let him lay her down, but as his lips broke contact with hers, she looked at him with a raised eyebrow as he took a step backwards. Then another. “What’s wrong?”

But he only made a half smirk slightly shaking his head before saying. “There’s something I wanted to try for some time now…”

As he took another step back and seemingly got in a stance her eyes widened. “Do you want to… jump…?”

His smirk widened a bit before getting ready. “Yes.”

“Zuko, don’t. Seriously…!” She started but she was already late, because he made the distance in full fling before jumping up. She let out a squeal and closed her eyes shut waiting for the impact or the world’s end, but she barely felt as he landed just above her, with his arms and legs beside her upon the bed. But when she opened her eyes to closely look at his satisfied smirk there’s a cracking noise from their legs direction.

The next moment the wooden bed decided to strangely sloop below them, and he was forced to roll on his back. One of his hands slammed to the side getting a hold of the bedside table and by the time she rolled upon him his other arm wrapped around her waist, stopping her just above him.

She only blinked while lying on his chest before looking up at his expressions. As he only showed a sign of mixed disbelief and slight embarrassment she let her lips curl upwards while giving him the ‘I told you’ look. “Good job, tiger.”

His ears slightly pinked as he showed a narrow look to the side, and as his gaze slowly wandered around the room then back at her he made a shrug. “Nah, I wanted a new one anyway.”

She smirked as he smiled up at her though, but only went on this way before kissing him again: “Smart...” She let out a light giggle before letting one of her fingers trail upon his chest. “Do you know what?” He only raised his eyebrow as he looked up at her blue eyes. “It really means something that after six years we still break beds…” She said twitching her eyebrows making him chuckle.

“Yeah… slowly we’ll be regulars at the store…”

Between two giggles her lips caught his again but as his hand let go and they almost rolled over again, she asked with a whisper. “Couch?”

“Couch.”
